Research findings show that glare from headlights of oncoming cars is a relatively common phenomenon (not only) on Czech roads. It is discussed mainly with the advent of modern light sources, such as LEDs, which have a different composition of the color spectrum than the human eye has been used to. At the same time, glare causes drivers to feel subjective discomfort and stress, the symptoms of which can be measured through psychophysiological methods. The presented methodology reflects the findings of the TAČR ÉTA 2 (reg. č. TL02000183), which aimed to analyze the process and degree of driver adaptation and visual perception to new types of light sources, and proposes an experimental procedure that can systematically determine determine driver's reactions to glare by car headlights, using both, subjective and objective measuring methods.
